Root Roasted was founded on a simple belief: Coffee should be experienced as it was meant to be — where it begins. Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee. Its soil, altitude, and micro-climates produce flavors found nowhere else on earth. Yet, for decades, the world has tasted these coffees only after long journeys, storage delays, and inconsistent roasting abroad.

We chose a different path. We roast here, at the origin — in the land where coffee grows. This allows us to preserve the freshness, sweetness, and complexity that is often lost in transit. Our craft combines:

Roasting Range

We craft three distinct roast levels, catering to diverse client needs:

• Light Roast
Bright, floral, and tealike, perfect for pour-over and filter brews.

• Medium Roast
A balanced body with sweet, smooth flavor, ideal for espresso and milk-based drinks.

• Dark Roast
Bold, rich, and intense for those who prefer a deeper roast profile.

Roasting Equipment: Precision & Consistency

Giesen W15A and W30A Series:
Used for processing small and mid-sized specialty lots. These machines ensure precise heat control for delicate Ethiopian profiles.

Probatone 25 Drum Roaster:
Dedicated for sample roasting and export-grade profile development. Provides consistency for larger volume orders.

Cropster® Software:
Utilized for digital monitoring and flavor curve optimization. Ensures that every batch adheres to the prescribed flavor and aroma profile.
